Kiki La Rue does Spoonfull of Sugar!

When I saw this image, it reminded me so much of me first thing in the morning, I just had to buy it! Actually my hair is naturally curly so I don't need curlers! Only kidding, I never look this good at any point in the day! I can dream though, LOL!!
Love this little lady's name, Kiki La Rue! It sounds exotic, pretentious & really cute all at the same time!
This is my entry for this weeks Spoonfull of Sugar challenge where there is a fabulous sketch to follow. The sentiment I created myself on the printer. The flowers are created with retro flower punches & I then doodled them as there looked to be too much deep red. Not sure this was a good idea, but it's done now!
Hope everyone has had a good weekend & is ready to face the week ahead.
Big Hugs,
Andie xx

Crafts 4 Eternity #51

Ooops! I overslept this morning, The opportunity to do so, (with my boys!) comes along so infrequently, it took me by surprise & I did not have this post scheduled. Anyway, it was nice while it lasted! Check me out, my first Xmas card completed! I'm going to alternate now for a while, otherwise I will get bored of Xmas cards far too quickly. Looking at this card now it looks a bit bare. I wanted to keep it simple. Now I'm thinking a couple of snowflakes might not go amiss. Well I can always add them later.
The layout is based on Michele's fab sketch at Crafts 4 Eternity this week. For more inspiration, pop over & check out the wonderful cards created by my fellow DT members & play along too.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Enjoy whats left!

Andie xx

Secret Crafters with Sketch & Stash 2 in 1

Just a quickie entering this little cutie into 2 challenges. The layout is inspired by the fab sketch at Sketch & Stash this fortnight. My stash is the ribbon & flower, created from my August, 'The Herbs' kit from Crafty Feeling. It's worth the (bargain) subscription price alone for the excitement you feel when the package lands on your doormat & you rip it open to check out the goodies inside. If anyone was wondering, you get loads for your £10! The second challenge I am entering is at Secret Crafters where their challenge is to create 'one for the girls.' The hardest thing about this was choosing the image, I have too many that would have done! But this little lady had not seen ink yet & I had been dying to bring her to life. I have to thank my fabulous blogging pal Dena, for the cat charm, Thanks Bud!!
Hope everyone had a good weekend, & the new week has gotten off to a good start. Thanks for looking!
Hugs,
Andie xx

Crafts 4 Eternity # 50, Autumn Inspiration

Today sees another fab sketch from Michele, our guiding light at Crafts 4 Eternity. This week there is an optional theme of using Autumnal inspired, browns & oranges. I chose one of my favourite Miss Anyas to convey this time of year. I paper pieced & 3D'd the umbrella for a bit of dimension. Michele's sketch includes a type of buckle, which I tried to adapt into the flower. I'm not sure it quite works, but it's not too bad. I added a hat pin, again for extra texture. Finally I sneeked 3 dew drops into the top left hand corner, as it was looking a bit bare.
Pop on over to the Crafts 4 Eternity to see the full sketch for yourself & see the wonderful work of my felow DT members.

I'm off to Altrincham this afternoon to sample the delights of the Trafford Food Festival, YUM!! Better wear something loose!! Hope you are having a good weekend, whatever you are up to. Have fun!

Hugs,
Andie xx

Bizzy Becs Creatalicious Challenges #2

My word how time flies from one month to the next! It's challenge time at Bizzy Bec's Creatalicious Challenges once more! This month the challenge is a colour combo, and a rather yummy one at that!! We want to see you use pink/plum, burgandy, & green on your cards & additionally, incorporate some kind of lace, ribbon or twine etc.

I perceived this to mean lots of berry tones, perfect for an Autumn inspired card. I've hardly stopped using the Sugar Nellie Autumn kit since I got it, & this was another excuse to ink it up again! The paisley DP from Bec's own online store provided the ideal backdrop for my card, but it sure took some messing to create a shade with my distress inks to match it! I had long been wanting to have a go at a tri-shutter card & used this opportunity to give it a go. They look complicated, but are actually relatively easy to create. I used this tutorial at Splitcoast Stampers to help. The fiddly bit is cutting all the pieces to size. I also embossed the burgandy card stock with my Cuttlebug for additional texture & used chalk inks to highlight it. Does anybody else have as much trouble as me tying ribbon? It takes me ages to get it how I want & I usually have to cheat with a bit of glue!! The finishing touch was the seriously gorgeous flower & leaves, again available at Bec's store. They are Quality!!

If you have not already been, please pop over to Bizzy Bec's Creatalicious Challenges to see the wonderful creations of my fellow DT members. Don't forget you have a whole month to enter, & there are fabulous prizes to be won, so no excuses, LOL!!

Hope everyone is having a good week!

Big Hugs,

Andie xx

Crafts 4 Eternity # 49

Crafts 4 Eternity challenge time again! Michele's sketch is really fun. This week we are asking that you add as much or as little embellishment as you wish, wherever you want. Personally I love colouring the image, but then adding embellishment is the best bit as everything you add really gives impact to the card. Creating flowers is such fun as they always look gorgeous. I love really big ones!! Mine are a mixture of bought flowers & punches. I've also used a button, a hat pin, a spacer & dew drop for a bit of fun & to add extra texture. I also curled the petals to add more depth.
Unfortunately, the photo does not show the colours properly. The background pink is really more of a cerise that I stamped with a doodle flourish. It looks more orangey pink in the photo & not as nice. You'll have to take my word or it, it looks better IRL. I rotated the sketch 90 degrees as I felt it fitted the shape of my image better, but then realised after I finished the DP is the wrong way up. But then I guess you wouldn't have noticed had I not said, duh!!
Anyway, hope you are feeling inspired to have a go at this weeks sketch. See it here, along with the fabulous work of the other DT members.
Hope you are having a great weekend. Enjoy the weather while it lasts!
Big Hugs,
Andie xx

Another 3 in 1!

Whoo! Check me out 3 posts in 3 days! I'm not sure what to make of this one though. I kind of like it, but I don't think it fits the image. It needs to be a lot more summery! This is the first chance I've had to ink up this summer Tilda & as everyone is moving on to the new Autumn images I had to get her done quick! I can't keep up with Blogland, it moves too quick, LOL!! I've made a pact with myself however, after September I will be making at least one Xmas card a week. It will take some discipline, but I have to do it! Anyway onto this card. I've used the fab sketch at Just Magnolia this week. I've not entered that for ages & it's one of my faves. The colour scheme fits with the challenge at Creative Inspirations, which is blue & brown. Love that combo. Finally Secret Crafters want to see hearts & flowers on your cards.
As you can see I've been playing with my distressing tool again. I could set up in production with my own version of flower soft soon if I kept all the 'fluff' that comes off the card, after I've shaved it, LOL! I also used my Cuttlebug to emboss some of the cardstock with the paisley design. The flowers I created with my retro punch along with some paper flowers the amazingly generous (Bizzy) Bec sent me. They are great quality. Much better than you get in Hobbycraft. Thanks Bec!
Well I'm off to bed now after I've linked this card. The only problem with entering so many challenges is that always takes me forever to do all the links. There has to be a quicker way. You can guarantee I will make a mistake on at least one! 'Message deleted by sender', that's usually me. Apologies in advance if I do it again!!
Have a great week!
Hugs,
Andie xx

Crafts 4 Eternity # 48 - Mice

Sunday again! Where do the weeks go? At Crafts 4 Eternity this week Michele has created another fab sketch to get your teeth into. There's not much to tell you about this as the card more or less made itself. I've 3D'd Henry Mouse to make him stand out more, & I used some ribbon to add more texture. The charm reads 'Made with Love'.
I hope you are feeling inspired to have a go at this sketch. Pop over to the C4E blog to see the other fab creations of my fellow DT members. While you are there pay Michele a visit. It's her birthday tomorrow. Please join me in sending her the warmest of wishes for a wonderful day!
Hope you are all enjoying the weekend.
Hugs,
Andie xx

3-in-1 Autumn Sugar Nellie

Things aren't quite as hectic now the kitchen is nearly done. (Just got the floor & splashbacks to get done!) It's been quite a while since I last entered a challenge. So I'm making up for by entering this into 3 challenges this week. The layout is based on the lovely, simple sketch at Friday Sketchers. I rotated it to fit my image. A Spoonfull of Sugar want to see disressing on your cards. Scuffed edges are not something I normally do, but I love the look on other peoples, & I'm really pleased with how it turned out here. Finally Colour Create chose the combo, ruby, cream & gold. This is perfect for an autumnal flavoured card, so I just had to give it a whirl! Have to say, I love the Sugar Nellie Autumn kit. Every image is just gorgeous. I never usually go for kits as there are usually one or two I'm not keen on. It's also nice to be able to see it before you take the plunge.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend. I'll be back again tomorrow with my Crafts 4 Eternity DT card.
Big Hugs,
Andie xx
