Just Magnolia meets Friday Sketchers

Have not got a lot to say about this, other than I don't like it! I am really cross as well, because Mumur's sketch at Friday Sketchers is lovely, but I have not done it justice. I have combined it with the pink & green challenge at Just Magnolia. Do you ever start something that feels good in theory, but the end result is disappointing & it becomes a chore, rather than a pleasure to finish.
Hey ho, the good news is I can now start another card, which will hopefully turn out better! Sorry to sound like a whinge bag, I am not annoyed with life, just this card, LOL! One more day of work & then it's a Bank Holiday weekend, Yippee!!!!
Hope you are all well, & feeling more satisfied with your cards than me!

SOS Challenge - Caryn's Sketch

This is my entry for the Spoon Full of Sugar challenge this week, using Caryn' fab sketch. I just love Greeting Farm stamps, if I could I'd buy them all!! This is Tink (from Dies to Die For). She reminds me of my niece Emma; outwardly as cute as can be, but in reality, a mischievous little imp, LOL! I opted to use ribbon stripes, otherwise it all just kept looking far too busy. There is also far more shimmer on the card than the photo picks up. The puple card stock is glittery, I used Stickles on the wings & little flowers, the ribbon is irridescent, & the flower in the centre of the large blossom is metallic. I went a bit mad, but fairies are supposed to be magical!
Hope you have had a good weekend.

Andrea xx

Sugar Bowl Challenge 8 - Tiet's Sketch

1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Once I caught a fish alive... Had to choose these DPs from Basic Grey, to go with this oh so cute image that reminds me so much of my youngest son, Ben. Except he is so clumsy he would have knocked the fish bowl off by now!! Tiets has created a great sketch for this challenge over at the Sugar Bowl, which I nearly did not get round to entering. Just where do the weeks go?
Hope this post finds everyone happy & well. Not long to the weekend, Yippeee!!

Regards,
Andrea

Bird Bath at Friday Sketchers

I love High Hopes images, but have not used any for ages. I had this image, ready painted, knocking around for ages, just begging to be made into a card. Problem is, every time I get a new stamp I want to play with that instead. Last Sunday I was watching the Masters, painting some images to use this week, but I not only left them, but my beloved Distress Inks too, at my parents house. How annoyed was I?! But the silver lining is this little cutie was all ready to step up to the plate. At Friday Sketchers this week, Jacqueline has done a lovely sketch to follow, so he is my entry.
FYI the DP is by Imagination Project & the sentiment by Whiff of Joy. The swirl stamp, which is hard to see, is by Prima & the flowers from my stash.

I have not had chance to leave many comments lately & there are a few people I want to say Hi to. Namely Jenny, Sarah & Dena! I have been looking & your cards are just gorgeous, as always. I am in awe of you fabulously talented ladies!! Just take a look for yourself. By the way Dena, I have not forgotten, I will e-mail you early next week!

This has been quite a long post & if you have made it this far, hope I've not sent you to sleep!! Looking forward to the weekend, only one more day to go, Yippee! & Jack comes home tomorrow. He has been staying with grandparents over the Easter break. I can't wait to have him back! He is also having his birthday party this weekend, though that I can wait for!! Wish me luck with that one!

Hope you are well

Magnolia vs Stampavie - Week 21 Sketch

Had to use this stamp again for my other son's Easter card, otherwise I do not know when I will use it again. I have followed Michelle's lovely sketch over at Magnolia vs Stampavie this week. I loved the idea of the eyelets & ribbon along the bottom, but had to adapt mine as I had
eyelets of the right colour. There is obviously a gap in my stash that needs to be filled. Yippee! an excuse to spend, LOL!
FYI, the DPs are Chatterbox Scrapbook Walls & the ribbon from Laura Ashley. I used a Dimension Fourth stamp to make the swirl & glued on embroidery thread for added texture, with Papermania adhesive stones to accent.
Will not get much chance to craft over Easter as we are going over to my parents. However I am taking some images & my Distress Inks so hopefully I will still be able to get my fix!
Happy Easter one & all

Andrea xx

SOS Challenge 45 - Lim's Sketch

Here's my entry for Lim's fabulous sketch over at A Spoon Full of Sugar this week. Just left the sentiment off, as Henry Mouse, from Whiff of Joy, kind of speaks for himself! Also the card just looked too busy with anything else on. Just a quickie for now as I have to take Jack over to my Mum & Dad's for his Easter hols. Sure am going to miss him, but it is only till Thursday, & he has already asked if I can go as soon as we get there. Does not look like he will me missing me quite so much!
FYI the DPs are from KI Memories & the flowers from Dies to Die for & Hobbycraft. The ribbon is from stash.
Hope everyone has had a good start to their week. Remember it is a short one this week, Hurrah!!

Regards,
Andrea

Hope We Have A Gorjuss Spring!

I don't have much need for Easter cards, so I thought this Gorjuss girl would be perfect for the Spring option on the Sugar Bowl challenge. I really love these Gorjuss images, they are fab to colour. I wonder if there are likely to be any Gorjuss boys in the pipeline? If money was no object I would be putting in my pre-order for the second set of Gorjuss girls right now, but I guess I will have to wait till they are available singly again. There are so many stamps, stash & tools I want just now, my boys will just have to go hungry, LOL! There you go, it's official, I am a crafting addict!
FYI, the DPs are from the Phoebe range by Basis Grey, & the sentiment is from Whiff of Joy. I used a Woodware embossing punch to make the flower & the raffia lace is from Hobbycraft.
Hope you are enjoying the Spring sunshine. We had our first BBQ of the year today, though it was not quite warm enough to actually eat it outside! Hope it is the first of many!

Gorjuss Girl does Colour Create

I wanted to make this my entry for the lilac & blue, Colour Create challenge this week. I do not know where the week has gone, as I fully intended to have my card ready long before now! I have based my layout on the sketch idea in this months Craft Stamper. Hope this does not count as combining, as I would dearly love to win those super sassy Miss Anya stamps. I was waiting till pay day to buy them for myself, but everywhere has sold out! I hope someone will be getting restocks in soon. They so remind me of my sister, she is very chic & always looks immaculate too! Wish I could say the same about myself, though I do have curly hair & love shopping, so I could maybe pass for one of the three, however, with my tree trunk legs, I could never wear a skirt that short, LOL!
Hope you are having a good weekend.

Regards,
Andrea xx
