Creatalicious Challenges - Challenge #6

A little change this month at Bizzy Bec's Creatalicious Challenge. This month we want you to make a project that does not use any stamped images, though you can stamp sentiments. This was quite a stretch for me to begin with, until I rooted through my stash & rediscovered this Penny Black sticker.

I decided to go all out on a vintage vibe. Lots of crumpled paper, distressing & lace. I covered the sticker with Crackle Glaze to make it look even more aged. I also wanted to create a rather lavish floral embellishment. I think I need a bit more practice at that, but I like the overall look. I used a mix of flowers some from Hobbycraft & some from Bizzy Becs.

Sadly this is my last month as a DT member for Bizzy Becs. I have to say it has been fun. I have had the pleasure of working with some lovely ladies & I have enjoyed the challenge. I will miss not being a part of it anymore. But I will be sure to continue playing along. All the best to the next set of lucky people who get chosen. The DT call is on now so hop on over & have a go.

Hope you are all having a good week.
Big Hugs,
Andie xx

Creatalicious Challenges - Challenge #5

It's the 15th again which means time for Bizzy Bec's Creatalicious Challenge once more. This month we want to see you use, something old, something new, something torn & something blue! As you will see from mine, & the gorgeous creations of my lovely DT colleagues, this does not have to mean a wedding card.

I decided to make a step card. I had been wanting to make one since I saw one on the blog of the wonderful Jacqui at Cats Whiskers. Her designs are a constant source of inspiration. Pop on over & see what I mean for yourself. So something old is the DP from last Xmas Imaginisce Snowy Jo Collection. Something new are the cute Xmas Gnomes from Whiff of Joy. Something torn is the Papermania vellum that is supposd to look like snow! Finally I used blue Bazzill Bling card stock for the card base & made a blue snowflake with a Nestie die from MME DP.

Sadly the weather has been so dull here I've really struggled to get a decent picture of this card. You'll have to take my word for the fact the colours look much better IRL. The card itself is much simpler to make than it looks, but cutting out those images sure took a while!
Now it's time to pop on over to the Creatalicious website to see the absolutely stunning creations of my DT colleagues. See them here.
Anyway, I hope you like it. Thanks for looking.
Hope everyone is having a great week!
Big Xmas Hugs,
Andie xx

Big News & an Award

I have just spent the last 2 hours steaming the wall paper off in my kitchen! This is not big news I hear you cry. Well I was able to sail through it with a spring in my step & a song in my heart for I learned this morning that those lovely ladies Becs & Cheryl have chosen me & 3 others to be on the design team of their new monthly blog, Bizzy Becs Creatalicious Challenges! It is a new monthly challenge blog, so no excuses for not joining in! Pop over there now, because if you haven't seen it already there is a superb blog candy giveaway to launch the blog. Check it out.

Who would not want to win all this scrummy stash. What are you waiting for? Get over there now!!

I also want to say a big THANK YOU to my fab blogging pal, Sarah, aka Lil-Paper-Pixie. She has been a big source of support & encouragement to me since I started my blog. On top of this she is an all round lovely lady! Here is the fab 3 in 1 award she sent me.

I in turn, would like to pass this on to another lovely lady, Dena. She too has become a great friend & a wonderful inspiration. Please go & see their beautiful work on their own blogs, then you will understand why I hold them both in the highest regard. Big hugs to you both!

Well, like me, I hope your weekend has turned out to be all you hoped it could be & more.

Regards,

Andie xx

Creatalicious DT Sketch Challenge

At last its here!! A challenge blog where you need never miss a challenge. The uber-talented crafting babes Bizzy Becs & Cheryl are setting up their own challenge blog. But as it will be a monthly challenge you will have heaps of time to perfect your entries! Sounds just my cup of tea. I try & stay loyal to the challenge blogs I enter, but there are so many, I never have time to do all the challenges I want. And the name of this new blog, Creatalicious Challenges. Doesn't it sound yummy!! So here's my entry for the DT challenge. The girls have provided a lovely simple sketch which I would definitely use again. I used one of the latest Gorjuss Girls from Sugar Nellie. I tried to echo the flowers in the image with the lollipop flowers I love making. She is coloured with distress inks & the DPs are Everafter by Cosmo Cricket (am loving these). Must go as it is time for work, but it's Friday, Hurrah!! Plus I am off next week, Yippeee!!

Have a great day,
Regards,
Andie xx
