C4E - Better Late than Never!

This was supposed to have been ready yesterday, but the execution of my card took a little practice, so I apologise for this being somewhat late! Nonetheless we have another fabulous challenge for you. This week, we would like you to
1. follow the sketch
2. use a brad
3. reverse something

So here is my card. I have to credit Tracey Dutton for the fablous inspiration she provided in this months Craft Stamper magazine. I fell in love with her stunning designs & really wanted to give it a go.

The stamps I have used are all from Lavinia Stamps. There are loads of gorgeous designs. It took me several goes to get the reflection effect right. I used a brayer, but I don't really have the right type. Needless to say I'm so pleased with the effect I've ordered a new one to help me do it properly (& hopefully more easily!) next time.

I blended distress inks into the background to create the moonlight & reflection. Of course, as there is a fairy involved, it is mandatory to add a little glitter to create a bit of 'magic'. But it is hard to see it in the photo.

I hope you like my first attempt at this style of card. Now it's over to you. Come & join in the fun & visit the Crafts 4 Eternity blog to see the fabulous creations of my fellow DT colleagues. My lovely DT team mate, Suzette, is sponsoring this week's challenge with a £10 voucher to spend at her own Crafty Sentiments online store, where she has an wonderful selection of cute & beautiful designs to choose from.

Thanks so much for looking,

Big Hugs,
Andie xx

Pollycraft Freebie

Boy am I a Doofus!! I wanted to enter this card into the Pollycraft DT call, but missed the deadline because I thought it was on Monday. But of course, that is the fortnightly Pollycraft challenge deadline, so I'm entering it there!

The challenge is to use sparkly things, I've used glitter in the icing on the cake & have glittered the big star I made with Funky Foam. The image is coloured with Promarkers with a little chalk to make the candle glow.

The curly ribbons are supposed to look like streamers, but I'm not sure I've quite pulled that off, LOL!! Finally the DPs are by Imaginisce, All Kinds of Happy.
There you go. I tried to make this suitable for a boy or a girl, but I think it's leaning more towards girly in the end.
I hope everyone out there is having a great weekend.
Big Hugs,
Andie xx

Sweet Spring Mimo

These Bildmalarna images are fast becoming some my faves. I feel an addiction coming on! This is the second of the ones I got from Bunny Zoes thanks to my fabulous friend Dena.

This card fits three challenges. The layout is from the this weeks great sketch at Create 4 Fun. I've used the yummy colour pallette at Colour Create of mint, chocolate & cream. At Secret Crafters the theme is 'Spring has Sprung'. I think this image fits the bill there too.

This little boy's name is Mimo, but he reminds me of both my boys, who may not be perfect, but both of them are loving to a fault. Yesterday Ben went out into the front garden in just his pyjamas. I was mortified that he had gone out on his own, but he said he had gone looking for flowers to pick for me! He is such a sweetheart!!

So there you go. Hope everyone's week has started well.
Thanks for looking.

Crafts 4 Eternity Recipe Challenge #25

Sunday means Crafts 4 Eternity day & we've got a fab sketch & recipe challenge for you this week. To enter you must
1. follow the sketch
2. use note paper
3. use a butterfly

My gorgeous friend Dena sent me this stunning Sweet Pea image & I have to say I just love it. She was a dream to colour, even though she has lots of hair!! I coloured her with Promarkers to match the Basic Grey - Wisteria DPs.

As I was doing it I realised that my notepaper did not really fit in with the look of the card, so I cheated a little & sneaked it into the layers of the flower. The lighter purple layer is note paper punched out & inked over with chalk ink.

I couldn't let such a magical image go without adding a little glitter! I 3D'd the butterfly & added glitter to it's wings. What doesn't really show in the photo is the little spot of glitter in her eyes to give them extra twinkle!

So, it's your go now. This is a great challenge & my DT colleagues obviously agree. If I say so myself, I think we have excelled ourselves this week. Go check out their amazing work here. This week's prize is one of Michele's fabulous mini card kits. So what are you waiting for?!!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Have fun whatever you sre up to!

Thanks for looking,

Spring Tilda

Just a quick post for this week's Just Magnolia challenge. I so loved making this card, this Tilda is such a gorgeous image.

My DPs are Basic Grey -Bittersweet & the ribbon & she is coloured with Distress Inks. I coloured the blossom with glitter pens, but it's hard to see how sparkly they are in the photo.

Not much else to tell you really. This is one of my favourite Tilda's, but then they are all beautiful.
Hope everyone is having a good week. The weekend is nearly here- Yippee!!

Happy Birthday Faye!!

A big shout to my C4E teamie, Faye!! It's her birthday today
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Faye's off on her holidays today, lucky girl. I knew my card would not reach her in time, so I've done the next best thing I could think of & posted it on here, so at least she can see it. This will be waiting for you when you come back. Have a wonderful time! Faye might not know why I chose this image for her, boa I'm sure she can guess, LOL!!

This is the Glamour Anya from TGF, which lovely Tracy at Dies to Die For sold me. I always get wonderful service from her, she's a star!! Shes coloured with Promarkers & the papers are Basic grey - Blush. The flowers were (mostly) made with a Marianne Design Creatable.

Apologies for the poor quality of the photo. I took it right in front of the window, but the sun isn't playing out just now. There are actually a number of challenges I would like to enter this into. Creative Card Crew & Cute Card Thursday both have the theme Celebrations. Happy Birhtday to you all ladies as well. At Secret Crafters this week, anything goes, so I am entering this little lady in there. Finally I based my layout on the Bev's fab sketch at Create 4 Fun.

If you get chance, please pop on over & say Hi! to Faye. Not only is she a very talented crafter, but her blog is very funny too.

Whatever you are up to out there. Have Fun. Thanks for looking

Crafts 4 Eternity Recipe Challenge #24

Crafts 4 Eternity time again & we've got another fab challenge for you. This week we would like you to
1. use Michele's great sketch
2. use the colours green & yellow (perfect for Spring & Easter!)
3.add some string

As my Mum doesn't really do cute, I had to step outside my comfort zone again. She does enjoy feeding the birds in her garden, so this is appropriate. The stamps are from Elusive Images & are soooo easy to colour! The DPs are Sugar Rush by Basic Grey. I love them.

I do have to confess to having to cheat a little on this. As I was making it I couldn't find the string & I know I don't have any wool. So I had to use embroidery thread. It's a shame as I think the string would have added a bit of texture & would have looked good.
I should have taken a close up of the flower as it holds the sentiment on a charm that says 'Made with Love'. If you click on it you might see it better.
Now then, on to this weeks prize, which is a fab set of round digi sentiments, that are not only gorgeous & fun, but will come in really useful.

If you can't wait to see if you win this weeks challenge, they are available to buy here at the Crafts 4 Eternity shop along with lots of other gorgeous goodies! Please check out the lovely creations of my wonderful C4E teamies
Well I hope everyone is getting well looked after today, it being Mother's Day & all. At least here in England it is. As a special treat, I am hoping to get some crafting done in daylight hours for a change! I don't ask for much!!
Whatever you are up to, have a wonderful day. Thanks for looking.
Big Hugs,
Andie xx

Birthday Cutie!!

It's been such ahectic day today this post is going onfar later than I intended. I hope it's in time for A Spoonfull of Sugar Challenge this week, where they want you ot use beads. Can you see them in the centre of the flower & on the butterflies?

The layout is based on the sketch at Friday Sketchers this week, so I'm entering it there too. The papers are Cosmo Cricket & the image is Bildmalarna & she called Tossa! Both are from Bunny Zoe's

I want to say a huge THANK YOU! to my bestest blogging pal, Dena. She sent me a Bunny Zoe gift voucher for my birthday, with which I bought this stamp & a couple more I hope to get inked up very soon. I think most people who have visited my blog before are probably aware of the love & utmost respect I have for Dena both as a warm & generous person, & as an amazingly talented crafter. Go pay her a visit if you haven't already & see what I am talking about.

I loved making this card. I hope you like it too. Thanks for looking.

Crafts 4 Eternity Recipe Challenge #23

Time for another Crafts 4 Eternity Recipe once more. This week we would like you to
1.use Michele's fab sketch
2. use ribbon
3.add a ticket.

I made my card for a work colleague who turns 60 today, though I don't think she really wanted reminding of that! I chose a Sugar Nellie Leanne Ellis image to fit the bill. I am also entering this at Simon Says Stamp this week, where I think this fits the girly aspect of the challenge.

I went for a vintage look on this & hacked away with my distressing tool. I had a raffle ticket stant that wasn't appropriate so & cut it out & used the reverse with a more suitable sentiment. Distressing hides the amateurish nature of my effort!

I've coloured her with my distress inks, including some of the new colours, added some glitter & glazed the bubbles. The papers are MME, Wild Asparagus.

With each passing week, the C4E family is growing. This week sees the wonderfully talented Adrina, Faye & Michele join the team. We also welcome Crafty Chris on board as March's Guest Designer. Her blog is full of fabulous creations. I hope you will join us again this week & check out the terific work of my lovely DT teamies! This weeks winner will be invited to be our Guest Designer for April. Are you up for it?

Well I hope everyone is having a great weekend. We're just having a quiet one, but it still seems to be passing far too quickly!! Doesn't it always, LOL!

Thanks for looking,

Dreamy Sugar Nellie

I'm back in my cute zone for this one & I love it when a card turns out just as I planned. I only had one go at this, as lovely Dena sent me the image. No pressure then!! But the Sugar Nellie Mangas are one of my favourite stamp ranges. Though I do struggle with their hair!!

I'm entering this in two challenges. The layout is based on this weeks sketch at Papertake Weekly. Really enjoyed the sketch & will definitely use it again. The colour scheme fits the bill at Colour Create too, where they want you to use red, black & off white. Love that combo!

I actually added glaze to give her lovely shiny shoes, but you can't tell in the photo. The DPs are from the Bella Bella range from MME, & the deep red paper is Bazzill Bling (yum!) She's coloured with Promarkers. Don't ask me about the lace paper. I found it in the bottom of my ribbon box & have had it for ages. It's from Hobbycraft I think.
Got to go. My bed is calling!
Thanks for looking!!
