2 in 1 & a Special Guest!

I want to dedicate this card to all the lovely people who stopped by to wish me a Happy Birthday. The fact that you took the time a trouble means a lot so Thank You. I will of course be stopping by you all personally too.

This card follows the fab sketch over at the current challenge at Lili of the Valley. I have been dying to ink up this gorgeous fairy. She is totally sweet. Of course I had to glitter her, where is the magic otherwise? The papers are Basic Grey, Wisteria & she is coloured with Distress Inks which qualifies her for entry at A Spoonfull of Sugar. My flowers & buttons are a mix from Crafty Feeling & Hobbycraft.

Onto my special guest. If you haven't already seen it on her own blog, this is the gorgeous birthday card my wonderful friend Dena sent me for my birthday. Can I just say the photos do
not do it justice. It is even more stunning IRL.
I was absolutely thrilled to receive this. The tag pulls out with a lovely message. I just love everything about it. As always I am in awe of her fabulous talent. She is such a warm & generous person. Just pop over to her blog & you'll see what I mean.

So there you go. I'll be back tomorrow, for Crafts 4 Eternity. In the meantime I hope you are all happy & having a great weekend.

Big Hugs,
Andie xx

SOS # 49 and Sugar Bowl Challenges

Just got home from my parents this evening, & was straight on the the crafting vibe! Inked up this little fella from Sugar Nellie & coloured him with my Distress Inks (what else!). I've combined two of my favourite challenges on this card. At A Spoonfull of Sugar this week they have set a colour scheme of blue & green, & the Sugar Bowl theme is to make a card for a man. Well I often refer to my boys as 'my little men' so I think this counts! The DPs I have had for years & quite frankly I had gone off them. So this was a great excuse to cut into them. They are by Deja Views & I must have had them at least five years! In fact I have been very good on this card & used stuff I have had for ages. If I can manage that a little more, I'll soon be needing to buy new stash. Hey when did I ever need an excuse, LOL! Hope you have all have a lovely BH weekend. I'm feeling good as my husband & I are having a 'We Day' tomorrow, where we take a day off work & do all the things we used to do before the children were born, while they are at school & nursery. I'm feeling really loved up & am looking forward to it. We're hoping to see Wolverine. Anyone seen it yet? I will let you know if it is any good.
Bye for Now,

Regards,
Andrea xx

SOS Challenge - Caryn's Sketch

This is my entry for the Spoon Full of Sugar challenge this week, using Caryn' fab sketch. I just love Greeting Farm stamps, if I could I'd buy them all!! This is Tink (from Dies to Die For). She reminds me of my niece Emma; outwardly as cute as can be, but in reality, a mischievous little imp, LOL! I opted to use ribbon stripes, otherwise it all just kept looking far too busy. There is also far more shimmer on the card than the photo picks up. The puple card stock is glittery, I used Stickles on the wings & little flowers, the ribbon is irridescent, & the flower in the centre of the large blossom is metallic. I went a bit mad, but fairies are supposed to be magical!
Hope you have had a good weekend.
Regards,
Andrea xx

SOS Challenge 45 - Lim's Sketch

Here's my entry for Lim's fabulous sketch over at A Spoon Full of Sugar this week. Just left the sentiment off, as Henry Mouse, from Whiff of Joy, kind of speaks for himself! Also the card just looked too busy with anything else on. Just a quickie for now as I have to take Jack over to my Mum & Dad's for his Easter hols. Sure am going to miss him, but it is only till Thursday, & he has already asked if I can go as soon as we get there. Does not look like he will me missing me quite so much!
FYI the DPs are from KI Memories & the flowers from Dies to Die for & Hobbycraft. The ribbon is from stash.
Hope everyone has had a good start to their week. Remember it is a short one this week, Hurrah!!

Regards,
Andrea

SOS Challenge 44- Easter Edwin

Easter has come early over at a Spoon Full of Sugar challenge, & here's my entry. When I saw this image of Edwin I knew I was going to make my boys their Easter cards with it. However, this is my first go at masking & I am not entirely happy with it. I do not think Edwin looks very comfy! He looks like he is perched, rather than seated, LOL! Must try harder on my next attempt!
FYI, the DP is by Sassafrass Lass, & I coloured the image with my trusty Distress Inks. The big yellow flower I made on a Prym's Flower Loom, that I saw in Hobbycraft at the weekend. I thought I would give it a whirl. I like the effect, but the instructions are a bit vague, & while I am sure it has potential, I am going to need to experiment a bit with it! If anyone knows any useful links I could have a look at, please let me know. :-)
Well hope everyone has got through Monday OK, it gets better from here on in!!
Regards,
Andrea xx

Spoon Full of Sugar - Challenge 39

This is my interpretation of Debbie's very stylish & classy sketch over at A Spoon Full of Sugar . It was fun to do & I will definitely use it again. This sweet little mouse is from the Homegrown range at Funky Kits & the sentiment is from Hero Arts. The papers are Art Nouveau by Dream Street. The lace I picked up in Hobbycraft. I'm pretty pleased with how he turned out, but in retrospect I should have put him on a bigger card. But after I had already started cutting into my precious papers, I was too mean & eeky to start again, LOL! Hope you are all having a good day!
Regards,
Andrea
