Crafts 4 Eternity - Colour Challenge

Another fab challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity. No sketch this week, instead we want to see your cards with a navy, light blue & silver/grey colour scheme. Perfect for the cooler temperatures we have at the moment. Having said that I went for rain over snow! Hopefully, we've seen the back of that for a while.

This poor Miss Anya has not seen ink for ages, so I coloured her with Promarkers & kept it very simple. The DPs are Tim Holtz & the crystals are Prima. The ribbon I picked up at the NEC.

I based my layout on the sketch at Totally Gorjuss this week, so I like to enter this card there too.

I hope you'll pop over & check out the wonderful creations of my lovely D-Teamies at C4E & play along with us this week.

Thanks so much for looking.

Andie xx

Crafts 4 Eternity #53 - Weather!

Friday! Yippee, the wekend is practically upon us! Time for another fab challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity. This week, along with the sketch we want to see the weather represented on your card, be it sun, wind, rain, snow etc.

I've gone for winter on my card, getting another Xmas card out of the way into the bargain! I've been neglecting my Greeting Farm stamps of late, so I used my favourite, Miss Anya - Snow for this. She's just so elegant & chic. I did not use Xmas papersfor this, instead they are MME, Penny Lane. The circle is a Creatables die cut & the snowflakes are made with a nestie.

All in all, quite a simple card, but I love the colour scheme.

I hope you'll now pop over to the C4E blog to see the gorgeous creations of my fellow D-Teamies. Play along this week & you could win a fab prize.

I would also like to enter this card at A Spoonfull of Sugar, where this week's challenge is Spots & Stripes

Thank You so much for looking, have a great weekend.

Big Hugs,
Andie xx

Miss Anya in the Pink

Fancied making something rather girly with this one. Can you tell?!!
This card fits in with two challenges. The layout is based on the lovely sketch at Create 4 Fun this week. Also at A Spoonfull of Sugar, you've got free range, anything goes, it's Freestyle!

This is the first time I've inked up this stamp from the last Miss Anya release. Doesn't she look summery?! I should really wait, we haven't even had a hint of Spring yet, LOL! She's coloured with Promarkers & the DPs are eons old, from the K&Co Romanza Collection. Pat on the back for me for using old stash!! The flowers are all from a Crafty Feeling Kit & I used a McGill punch on the leaves. Not much else to say really, except her cheeks look a bit grubby in the photo. Rest assured, IRL, she has had a wash!!

Hope everyone is having a good week. Thanks for looking.

Big Hugs,
Andie xx

Crafts 4 Eternity Recipe Challenge #14

Happy New Year Everyone!!
Sunday once more, & another fab Crafts 4 Eternity Challenge for you to get your teeth into. This week, the ingredients are to:-
1. Use Michele's sketch,
2.Use stitching- real or faux,
3. Use a blue & white colour scheme.

I'm so fed up of making Xmas cards & anything wintery I thought I'd use one of the new Miss Anyas. This one was the least summery of the three, but it's nice to look ahead to Spring. Especially as it's so cold here & everything is white with snow, with more forecast!! I used DP from my Basic Grey Wisteria pad. The dark blue paper is stamped with a swirl with white Staz On ink. I really like how that looks.

In the close up you can see my faux stitching. I had intended to do some for real, but I didn't have time. I added Stickles to the daisies too. There are some Xmassy things I'm not ready to give up yet!! She's coloured with Promarkers, the flowers are from Hobbycraft & the leaf punch is by McGill. I hope you are now feeling inspired to pop on over to the C4E blog to see the gorgeous creations of my DT colleagues, here. Michele is offering another goody bag as a prize & we are looking for a Guest DT member for February. Two fantastic reasons for entering this week!

I've been staying at my parents mostly over the last fortnight & have not had much chance to get any crafting or much visiting done. My New Years resolution is to do more of both! Me & the boys are going home today, I'm soooo looking forward to getting some quality crafting time in, once the boys are all tucked up in bed. For now though, I have more mundane concerns, like going to Sainsburys - Big Yawn!!

Hope Everyone in Blogland is happy & well. I'm feeling a bit lonely. My hubbie has gone to Australia for a friends wedding. I should have been going too, but when it became apparent we could not afford to take the boys as well. I decided to stay behind as I could not bear the thought of being so far away from them for a whole fortnight. So in lieu of violins, any comments you leave would be greatly appreciated!!

Big Happy 2010 Hugs for you all!!

Crafts 4 Eternity # 50, Autumn Inspiration

Today sees another fab sketch from Michele, our guiding light at Crafts 4 Eternity. This week there is an optional theme of using Autumnal inspired, browns & oranges. I chose one of my favourite Miss Anyas to convey this time of year. I paper pieced & 3D'd the umbrella for a bit of dimension. Michele's sketch includes a type of buckle, which I tried to adapt into the flower. I'm not sure it quite works, but it's not too bad. I added a hat pin, again for extra texture. Finally I sneeked 3 dew drops into the top left hand corner, as it was looking a bit bare.
Pop on over to the Crafts 4 Eternity to see the full sketch for yourself & see the wonderful work of my felow DT members.

I'm off to Altrincham this afternoon to sample the delights of the Trafford Food Festival, YUM!! Better wear something loose!! Hope you are having a good weekend, whatever you are up to. Have fun!

Hugs,
Andie xx

Stamptacular Sunday Build-a-Card Blog Hop.

Phew, SSC promised a fun event today & they certainly delivered with a capital F U N! A big Thank You to Priscilla & her amazing DT for organising such a great challenge. Basically it was a blog hop to build a card adding elements as you went from each blog you visited. I have to admit I nearly gave up at the second hurdle as the element was to add an oval. I do not have any shape cutters that will do an oval & have you any idea how hard it is to find something ovular of the right size to draw around? Eventually I used the jug I use to fill my iron!! After this hiccup though, there was no stopping me & I believe I have incorporated all the requirements to enter my card into the challenge. It has in all honesty been quite a strain on the old grey matter to get it done so quickly. I usually complete a card over a couple of evenings at a quite leisurely pace. But I've really beavered away tonight to meet the deadline, & have to say I'm pleased with the result. You'll have to believe me though, when I tell you the card looks better in real life. I did not start till relatively late & missed the daylight to take my photo. Well it's my bedtime now, so better go. Hope you've all had a great weekend. I'll be off to the post office in the morning as I have some packages to send, wink, wink, nudge, nudge!
Regards,
Andie xx

Summertime Miss Anya

I have been trying to resist the Miss Anyas for ages. I don't usually spend so much in one go on a stamp set. I prefer to buy individual stamps as it feels like I am getting more. However, Dies to Die For had them back in stock (briefly) this week & I took the plunge! I just love The Greeting Farm stamps, they are so easy to colour & the images are such fun. I chose this little lady first as the challenge at Spoonfull of Sugar this week is summer & Anya here, looks all set for the heatwave we have been having. I coloured her, as usual, with my Distress Inks, but this time used Tea Dye for her skintone to give her a bit of a tan(I usually use Tattered Rose). My photos do not really pick this up though. I paper pieced her skirt (what there is of it! - Glad I have sons & not daughters, LOL), & used a glitter pen on her shades. I based my card on the fab sketch at Papertake Weekly. You will have to take my word for it but the rosette ribbon flowers I have had for ages in my stash, look better in real life than the photo makes out. My DPs, by the way, are MME sent to me by the wonerfully kind & gargantually talented Dena, (Hey Bud!).
Hope everyone in blogland is having a great weekend!

Regards,
Andie
