Secret Crafter's Saturday Challenge DT

Hey, Hey for the weekend! Time for another fab challenge at Secret Crafter's Saturday Challenge. This week our theme has been chosen by lovely Jane. She wants to see a colour scheme of

BLACK & RED WITH TEXTURE

I've been biding my time before I inked this image up & now that I have I just love her! She's called Gossmere & is by Christy Croll for Stamping Bella, available at Quixotic Paperie. She's coloured with Distress Inks & the paper is Magnolia. You can just see the embossed paper under the ribbon. The flower was created with a Spellbinders die.

I used the fab sketch at Quixotic Paperie for my layout.

At Papertake Weekly, 'Anything Goes'.

I hope you'll now hop on over to the Secret Crafter's Saturday Challenge blog to see the wonderful inspiration of my fabulous D-Teamies. I think we all had fun with this one. We are sponsored this week by the lovely people at the Digi Doodle Shop. They will give a $10 voucher to this week's lucky winner.

So I hope everyone in the UK at least is dealing with the cold OK. I'm getting a bit fed up with it now, especially as we've not had any proper snow here. I'd love to build a snowman with the boys, or more likely, on my own while the boys stay warm & watch, LOL! This cold weather is no fun if there's no snow!

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Thanks so much for looking,

Creative card Crew - Tis the Season!

Hurrah for Tuesday. Always good to get Monday out of the way, workwise at least! I've got 2 posts for you today. Firstly my card for Creative Card Crew where we are celebrating Christmas. Afterall,

TIS THE SEASON!

I had a blast with this card. I've been dying to ink up this Stamping Bella - Eve under the Mistletoe, from Quixotic Paperie. She's coloured with Distress Inks & the papers are MME - Holly Jolly. The sentiment is by Catslife Press at Crafty Emma's store. The mistletoe die is a Doo Hickey, with Liquid Pearls for the berries. The holly was made with a Memory Box die with added stickles for the berries. A little Glamour Dust on the fur trim & that's it.

I used the fab layout at the Quixotic Paperie challenge for my layout.

The colour scheme of red, white & green fits with the challenge at Colour Create to.

At Bunny Zoe's they want to see 'Anything Christmas with pearls'.

Well I hope you'll now take the time to check out the fabulous creations of my fellow D-Teamies at Creative Card Crew, where this fortnight we are sponsored by Simon Says Stamp.

I'll be back sooner than you think with my card for Passion For Promarkers. Hope everyone is keeping warm & well out there. It has certainly started to feel a lot colder here in Manchester.

Thanks so much for looking,

Secret Crafters Saturday Challenge - Borders & Flowers

Ooooooh yippedy-yip for the weekend. How I love it so :~) Especially as we have another fab challenge at Secret Crafter's Saturday Challenge. This week it's lovely Janet's turn to chose or theme. She has gone for

BORDERS & FLOWERS

I had to take a break from Xmas cards this week as it's my gorgeous sister's birthday next week & I'd been saving this SCACD image for her, as it's almost as beautiful as she is. She's coloured with Distress Inks & the papers are one of my faves, Memory Box - Gossamer. The border die is a Doo Hickey & the flower is by Spellbinders.

I kept this relatively simple as I think she's such an elegant image I did not want to detract from her too much. With that in mind, the flower is perhaps, a little big. Too late now though. My layout is based on the fab sketch at Quixotic Paperie this month.

At Bearly Mine the challenge is 'My Favourite Things'. As I got this image with my sister in mind as it reminds me of her elegance, I am using her as 'my favourite thing'. As I said, the papers are amongst my faves too.

So I hope you'll now hop on over to the Secret Crafter's Saturday Challenge blog to see the fantastic inspiration of my fellow D-Teamies. It's also the last challenge of the month so also therefore your last chance of entering & being in with a chance of winning a fab prize of 5 gorgeous digis from The Stamping Boutique.

So that's all from me for today. We're off visiting my Uncle in Leicester today. I haven't seen him for ages & he hasn't seen the boys for years. So it will be interesting to see what they make of each other. I've had to warn Jack that my Uncle is not into football at all. I'm not sure Jack will know of anything else to talk about. He's such a football bore, LOL!!

I hope everyone has something fun to look forward to this weekend. Only 4 weeks till Xmas!! Thanks so much for looking.

Passion For Promarkers & Papaertake Weekly Halloween Double Header

Happy Tuesday one & all! I've got a double helping of scary cards for you today. My first offering is my GDT card for this week's challenge at Papertake Weekly, where we want you use

HALLOWEEN HUES
(ie. purples, oranges, greens, black etc. It doesn't have to be a Halloween card though.)

As you can see, this little Bildmalarna scarecrow is not really that scary at all. That's because this is for my recently turned 1 year old nephew, so I went all out cute & colourful for him instead. He's coloured with Distress Inks & the papers are Fancy Pants - Oct 31st. I embossed the purple co-ordinations paper & the bow was off a chocolate box or something.

This next card is an altogether much spookier affair. But I love the image & I hope my 8yr old son, Jack will too. This is my DT card for Passion For Promarkers, where lovely Lisa has chosen our theme this week, which is

STARS

This is Mr Punkinhead from Kraftin Kimmie. He was a doddle to colour & I added Distress Stickles to his eyes & mouth to enhance the effect of the light inside his head. It sounds wierd writing it like that, but you know what I mean. The sentiment comes with the image & the papers are Fancy Pants once again.

The layout for both cards is based on the fab sketch at Quixotic Paperie where they have a new monthly challenge back up & running again. Yippee!!

There are also other Halloween themed challenges that I am entering these cards into at Creative Card Crew, Simon Says Stamp, ABC Challenges, where B is for 'Boo!'

I hope you'll now go and check out the fabulous inspiration of my wonderful D-Teamies at Papertake Weekly & Passion For Promarkers & play along with us this week. There are fabulous prizes to be one, including a £20 voucher to spend at Crafters Companion available at Passion For Promarkers. What  re you waiting for!!

Well I hope you are all having a good week so far. Thanks so much for looking.

Passion For Promarkers - Pink/Purple & White Christmas

Happy Tuesday One & All! My lovely D-Teamie Anja has chosen a great theme for this weeks Passion For Promarkers challenge. She wants to see Xmas cards with a pink & white, or purple & white colour scheme.

Furthermore we are delighted to have Whiff of Joy as our fabulous sponsor, who are offering our lucky winner a choice of any stamp from their wonderful range.

I used Tilda Unwrapping Presents from the 2009 Xmas collection & coloured her with Aqua Markers. I also used the Wedding Swirl for the background. The pink DP is Ocober Afternoon - Very Merry. The sentiment is Catslife Press from lovely Crafty Emma's Store & I used a variety of punches & dies for the snowflakes.

Quite a simple card all in all, but I'm going to enter in several other challenges. The layout uses Dawny's fab sketch at Just Magnolia this week. At the new monthly Quixotic Paperie challenge, the theme is Christmas is Coming. Totally Gorjuss are celebrating their first birthday & revisiting their first challenge, which is Pink!

Please hop on over to the PFP blog to see the stunning creations of my wonderful D-Teamies.

Hope everyone is having a great week.

Passion For Promarkers - Teddy Bear's Picnic!

Happy Tuesday, it's time for another challenge at Passion For Promarkers. This week the fabulous Denise has chosen this week's theme. We want to see cards with Teddy Bears.

Joanna Sheen is our wonderful sponsor for this week's prize, & the lucky winner will get a £10 vouche to spend on all the fabulous goodies in her store!

I used Young Alexa by Elizabeth Bell for SCACD, from Quixotic Paperie. She's coloured with Aqua Markers. The papers are MME - Penny Lane. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I added glitter round the frame & the papers are glittered too, though that doesn't show up very well in the photos. But I would like to also enter my card into the challenge at Quixotic Paperie this week, which is 'Shiny, Happy People'.
Please check out the fab creations of my fellow D-Teamies at the PFP blog, if you have not already done so, & play along.

Thanks so much for looking.

3 in 1 Tilda

There is a lesson in this card. Always check you have sufficient quantity of the DPs you intend to use before you start colouring the image! Don't do what I did & imagine a gentle, pastel coloured card & then find out, once you've lovingly coloured your Tilda, that your Basic Grey Wisteria pad is mainly just scraps!! DUH!!

So Bo Bunny Marrakesh & Fancy Pants Daydreams to the rescue. Not until I coloured over the green bits with Pink! I think it turned out OK, but I'm disappointed because it isn't what I wanted.

Anyway I made this card for 3 fabulous challenges.

Just Magnolia - Bev's fab Sketch

A Spoonfull of Sugar - 3D. The oval image is on foam pads

Quixotic Paperie - Distressing. I love the distressed look

I used a crystal cake decoration on the flower centre, (it looks better IRL!) & the heart pin is also from Quixotic Paperie. And there you go. Not much else to tell you about.

Hope everyone has had a lovely Bank Holiday weekend. Ours has been great, but OMG, so cold!
Back to work tomorrow, but another day off on Thursday as Jack's school is a Polling Station & is closed. Yippee for me, but big disappointment for Jack as he loves school!

Hope everyone out there is happy & well. Thanks for looking.

Big Hugs,
Andie xx

Crafts 4 Eternity Recipe Challenge #21

Gosh, I've been such a bad blogger of late. I just don't know where the time goes. Fortunately it's C4E time again & Michele has come up with another great sketch & recipe. This week we want you to:-
1. use the sketch
2.use the colours black & pink
3. include staples in your creation

I have a confession to make. I bought this Leanne Ellis, Poise stamp, from Sugar Nellie, when it first came out & this is the first time I have actually used it. (Smacks back of hand). She is actually a dream to colour with my Distress Inks. I think I will be using her a lot more.

There is not much to else to tell you about this card. I used some old monochrome Anna Griffin papers & the flowers & brad are from a Crafty Feeling kit. I also added black sequins to the centre of the small flowers, for a little added shine, but they don't show up so well in the photo.

It's time to pop on over to the Crafts 4 Eternity blog now to see the gorgeous work of my extremely talented DT colleagues. I think we all really liked this challenge, they have excelled themselves!
It is my Mum's birthday next weekend & I made this card for her. So I would also like to enter this into this week's challenge at Quixotic Paperie where the challenge is to make 'Something for Mum'
Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Andie xx

Setting the Record Straight!

It's a common misconception that fairies are all slim & pretty. Mo Manning has proved otherwise with her images of fairies who are, shall we say, a little overweight. I'm not sure how this one gets off the ground, but she's nonetheless graceful in flight!

I based the card on the fab sketch at Sketch & Stash this week. I'll definitely use this again. My new stash is the Mo Manning stamp, & I've used Basic Grey Wisteria DPs I've had for some time now, but I never get tired of them.

There are quite a few other challenges out there this would fit in with. However, I've probably missed the deadline for Quixotic Paperie where the challenge is to use a butterfly on your card. Passion 4 Promarkers want to see cards with 'all creatures great & small'. The butterfly fits this category, but it also got me thinking. Is a fairy a creature or a person? Discuss!! Finally at Cute Card Thursday they want you to use flowers on your cards, easy!!
Well I hope everyone is having a good week. Thanks so much for looking.
Big Hugs,
Andie xx
