ABC Challenge DT

Oh My Goodness. How did this happen? My post for ABC Challenges didn't apppear & I didn't even notice. I'm usually camped on t'interweb every chance I get. I've been preoccupied over the last 24hours helping Jack with his thesis for his Black belt grading for Taekwon-Do. He's only just turned 10 yesterday & he had to write a thesis! Anyway, I now know a lot more about TKD than I did, LOL!

Anyhoo, on to my card & it's time for another challenge at ABC Challenges where this week we are up to

Happy New Year!

 

The new year is full of new hope & optimism. I hope it finds you all happy & well & that it brings you everything you hope for & aspire to. Any New Year resolutions? Mine are to get fitter, healthier & slimmer! Get more organised & improve my work life balance! Quite a culture change for me then, LOL! We'll see!

 

Anyway, onto the card. Today sees new challenges at ABC Challenges & Passion For Promarkers. Hopefully after all the fun & festivities over the Xmas hols you are now ready & raring to get your teeth into new challenges. Maybe you've even got new stash to play with!

 

At the ABC Challenge we want to see you use EMBOSSING on your card.

 

At Passion For Promarkers our theme reflects the new year & it is NEW BEGINNINGS.

 

 

I'm using one of my Xmas pressies on this card (Thank You so much!). Friends of ours are expecting a little boy at the end of Jan. This was the perfect opportunity to get prepared. Check the being organised part of my New Year's resolutions. It's going well so far! This is a LOTV image coloured with Promarkers. The embossed stamp came with my long since departed, Cuttlebug & the stars are die cuts covered in Beadazzles.

I have to admit I don't like making shaped cards. I find I really lack inspiration when it comes to designing them. This is no exception. I've played it safe with an easel card. The gorgeous image is Nevaeh from Saturated Canary & the papers are MME - The Sweetest Thing, Lavender. The swirls & tag were cut with Doo Hickey dies.

Apologies for the quality of the photos. I spent ages trying to get some decent light.

I used this super cute Potting Shed image from LOTV. It was going to be a more feminine card, but once coloured I went for a masculine look.  In the end, I'm not really sure which way this swings. Good Morning & 'Huzzah!' for another weekend! Time for another challenge at Secret Crafter's Saturday Challenge. This week our theme is

WHITE ON WHITE

I must admit ot always feeling a certain amount of dread when I see a theme like this. I always doubt my ability to make elegant cards & WOW always implies elegance to me. Having said that therefore, I am always surprised & happy with the results I get as I love the effect of white on white.

For this card I used another Tiddly Inks image. Still loving these little cuties! She's coloures with Prismas & the die cuts are all Doo Hickeys except the smallest flower which is a punch.

I'm also entering this in the Tiddly Inks challenge. I hope there is enough twinkle in the gems & the glitter on the wings to qualify for their 'Sparkle it Up' challenge.

My, my how time flies. Christmas is all but a distant memory already. But once we get through January things pick up a pace again. But doesn't January drag?! It's definitely my least favourite month. When a card is for someone really special, you just want it to be perfect. I won't say it's perfect, but I am pleased with it. This may just be my favourite image of the moment. She's a Nellie Snellen stamp, coloured with Distress Inks. The papers are Echo Park.I love this Doo Hickey Poinsetta die, it always looks fab with Twinklets. I also added Glamour Dust to the snow.

Well, my, my, my, where has this year gone? Six months ago we (team 2) returned to Passion For Promarkers for our stint, whilst team 1 took a well earned rest. I can't believe this is now over & this is my final card for PFP, for now. But what a way to go out. Passion For Promarkers - At the Zoo

My goodness. I didn't know when I was going to get this done. All the Halloween festivities at the weekend sure took a big chunk out of my crafting time. Well at least the kiddies had fun! Apologies for the dreadful quality of these photos. There is not much colour in the MME Andrea-Victoria papers I used, but it looks all washed out. The image is a very old High Hopes stamp called Camilla Gorilla. I was not seeing much of her girly charm, so I made this card for a man. Actually my son Jack loves it & wants it for his birthday in April! The sentiment is High Hopes too.
